Monclova Christian Preschool
Who We Are And What We Believe
Monclova Christian Preschool is an outreach ministry of Monclova Road Baptist Church (MRBC) to the local community. As such, our educational philosophy includes a Biblical foundation, a child-centered and age-appropriate curriculum within a safe and caring environment. Our desire is that each child will learn to appreciate the wonders of God’s creation and his great love in sending Jesus Christ as our Savior, to speak to God in prayer, and to live a Christian life.
Preschool activities will focus on the whole child and help your child develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. The following educational goals are implemented for each class using age and developmentally appropriate strategies:
-
- To help each child understand Bible truths and promises through Bible lessons, scripture verses, and songs.
- To develop each child’s confidence and independence.
- To support the child’s curiosity and creativity in a safe and supportive environment.
- To emphasize treating others with respect and kindness.
- To support the development of preschool skills (letter, numbers, shapes, colors, etc.) with a strong emphasis on pre-reading skills.
- As a ministry of MRBC, MCP follows the MRBC Statement of Faith for our staff expectations. These statements also guide decisions and policies for MCP. As an outreach ministry, however, we do not require a family to subscribe to the same statements.
Kindergarten Readiness
We weave together academic curriculum, art projects, music, storytelling, math and science experiments that result in a meaningful learning experience where children build a foundation for lifelong learning. The children also love the free play time each day where they can choose from a variety of activities to participate in. Our goals at Monclova Christian Preschool are to develop your child’s confidence and independence by working on many developmentally appropriate preschool skills: colors, shapes, numbers, letters, cutting, coloring, skipping, etc. To accomplish this we use the Abeka Bible and Manuscript Writing curriculums along with other various academic tools and technology.
