Pastor Jeremy Rands
Pastor Rands has earned a Bachelor of Theology degree and a Masterís of Theology as well.
In 2003 they moved to Milford, Ohio, to work on staff at a large, influential church in the Midwest. There he received valuable experience that God would use in his life to prepare him to pastor. Pastor Rands served as the administrative pastor there approximately ten years.
Sensing the call to become a senior pastor, Jeremy Rands was led by God to Columbus, Georgia, where he accepted the call to become the senior pastor. Pastor Jeremy Rands accepted the position of senior pastor of Monclova Road Baptist Church and September 20, 2015, was his first Sunday as pastor.

Mr. Neil Black, Principal
Mr. Black graduated from Cedarville University with a bachelorís of science in physical education and a minor in Bible. He has served in various capacities of Christian education for over twenty years, all but four of which have been in some form of administration. Mr. Black answered the call to MCA in the fall of 2004. He and his family feel honored and privileged to be able to serve God in this ministry.
Mrs. Michelle Nixon, MCA Secretary
Michelle joined the MCA staff in 2017, and is currently the school's secretary. Dave and Michelle are the parents of four children, all of whom have attended MCA, She counts it a blessing to work with the Godly families and staff here. Their family began worshiping at MRBC in 2008.
Mrs. Laurie Mitchell, Director of Education and Guidance
As Director of Education and Guidance at MCA, Mrs. Mitchell is responsible for academics and college and career guidance. She is an honors graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a bachelorís degree in science. Mrs. Mitchell has also practiced as an occupational therapist in both mental health and physical rehabilitation settings and has served as a faculty member in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Lourdes University. She has many years of teaching experience and has taught at elementary, secondary, and college levels. Her husband, Brian, is an analytical chemist and a deacon at Moncloa Road Baptist Church, where their family attends. Both her daughter, Brianna, and her son, Scott, are graduates of MCA.
Mrs. Colleen Hester, Kindergarten
Mrs. Hester spent her childhood years in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from Bob Jones University with a bachelorís degree in teaching, she taught kindergarten for seven years and then became a homeschool mom for nine years. In 2000, the Lord provided the opportunity for her to teach at MCA, where she has taught in both lower and upper elementary. Presently, she is the kindergarten teacher. Her greatest thrill is to see students develop academically, socially, physically, and spiritually during each school year.
Mrs. Kristin Jackson, First Grade
Being a teacher has been my dream since I was 5 years old. I have always loved watching children learn and grow. I am excited that the Lord has brought me to MCA to teach. Watching the light bulbs turn on in Childrenís minds is amazing. To be able to turn those light bulbs on and also watch them grow in the Lord at the same time is just an unimaginable feeling for a teacher. Outside of school I am also a wife and a mom to the most adorable little boy.
Mrs. Marsha Sarver, Second Grade
Mrs. Sarver and Kevin have been married nearly 34 years and have two children, Kristeena and Keith. They are originally from central Ohio but currently live in Whitehouse. Mrs. Sarver was saved as a teenager and attends Monclova Road Baptist Church. She has taught at all levels of education and is currently MCA's second grade teacher.
Mrs. Jennifer Nagle, Third Grade
Mrs. Nagle earned her high school diploma from Bethany Baptist School in Grand Rapids, Ohio, and her bachelorís degree in special education and elementary education at Bob Jones University. She taught for seven and a half years at Fairfax Baptist Temple Academy in Fairfax, Virginia, where she also met and married her husband, Mike. They have three children, all of whom attend or have graduated from MCA. When the opportunity arose to return to this area, she was offered a position third-grade teaching position. Since that time, Mrs. Nagle has been faithfully serving on the MCA staff.
Miss Naomi Nixon, Fourth Grade
Miss Nixon graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, specializing in Social Science. She is a 2014 graduate of MCA, and has been a member of Monclova Road Baptist Church since 2009. Her goals as a teacher are to support each student in their walk with Jesus Christ and to encourage them to expand their minds through learning and education.
Mrs. Kezia Pfaff, Fifth Grade
Mrs. Pfaff grew up in a family of eight in Adrian, MI. After graduating from a Christian school, she attended Pensacola Christian College and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Music-Instrumental Emphasis. In 2017, she married her best friend, Johnathan. Mrs. Pfaff considers it a tremendous honor and privilege to be able to teach at Monclova Christian Academy. Her desire for fifth grade is that we strive for Psalm 19:14 - "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer."
Miss Heidi Ross, Sixth Grade
Miss Ross has been a member of Monclova Road Baptist Church since her childhood and is fulfilling a long-time desire to teach at MCA. She graduated from Tennessee Temple University with a bachelorís degree in elementary education and now teaches sixth grade at MCA. Heidi says that she recognized Godís call on her life to teach when she was just in first grade and clings to Godís promise in Proverbs 22:6 that a child trained ďin the way he should goĒ will not depart from the truth when he is old. She loves encouraging children to walk with the Lord, and seeing the light of understanding in their eyes as they learn.
Mrs. Allyson Wyatt, Upper High School Spanish 1 & 2, History, Algebra 1 & 2, & Yearbook
Mrs Wyatt has been a member of Monclova Road Baptist Church since 2004. She has been very involved with Sunday School and has been teaching the 3-year-old Sunday School since 2010. She graduated in August 2013 from Bowling Green State University with a bachelorís degree in statistics and a minor in intervention specialist. She feels very blessed that God has given her the opportunity to teach at MCA. In her spare time, Mrs Wyatt is a sports fan Ė especially when it comes to baseball!
Mr. Chris Click, Junior & Senior High Bible & History
Mr. Click grew up in southwest Ohio. He went to Pensacola Christian College and graduated with a Bachelor of Bible degree. He met his wife, Heather, at Pensacola Christian College and got married in 2011. They have a daughter, Ava and a son, Elijah. His greatest desire for the students of MCA is to see them grow spiritually mature and reflect Christ in every area of their lives.

Ms. Rader grew up on a deer ranch in northwest Michigan. She attended West Coast Baptist College where she graduated with a degree in secondary education, emphasizing in math and English. Ms. Rader has a passion for teaching and inspiring the next generation and is excited to see how the Lord will use her at Monclova Christian Academy. Her life verse is Psalm 16:11, "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
Mr. Mike Farley, High School Science
Mr. Mike Farley joins the MCA staff with 20 years of teaching experience and 8 years serving in administration. His education includes undergraduate degrees in mathematics, general science and physics from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College and Cedarville University. He has also done graduate work at the University of Toledo in the area of Educational Supervision and Instruction. Mr. Farley has a passionate heart for Christian education. Having attended Christian schools for 14 years he is so appreciative of the impact that Christian teachers and professors have had on his heart and mind, and he desires to have such an impact on the hearts and minds of MCA students. He loves it when the students see the wonders of science because of our amazing Creator ultimately strengthening their walk with the Lord.
Mr. Josh Filler, Junior High Science & Math
Mr. Filler graduated from Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York, and from Cedarville University with a bachelorís degree in accounting and a minor in Bible. He and his wife, Cortney, were married in 2010 and have been attending Monclova Road Baptist Church since moving to Toledo area. Josh has lived in both Indiana and New York, and he thanks God every day for the opportunity to be able to teach at MCA. He and Cortney both have a passion for ministering to youth and have worked at Word of Life camps for a combined nine summers. He very excited to be a part of Monclova Christian Academy.

Mrs. Fish received her bachelorís degree in education from Bowling Green State University and has taught all but one of her twenty-five plus years in Christian schools. She joined the staff of MCA in 2000, teaching first a combined fifth and sixth grade class and then moving to the junior/senior high where she teaches math. It is Mrs. Fishís desire to model both a love for math and a love for the Lord to the students at MCA. She and her husband both attend Monclova Road Baptist Church.
Miss Brianna Mitchell, Intervention Specialist
Miss Mitchell is a highest honors graduate of Cedarville University with a bachelorís degree in Early Childhood Education (PK-3) and Special Education (K-12). She is a 2013 graduate of MCA and is excited to return as a teacher. Miss Mitchell will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Service Plans to meet the needs of students with diverse needs. She is a member of Monclova Road Baptist Church and enjoys serving in the nursery and other ministries at Monclova Road.
Mrs. Abigail Bahret, Remedial Specialist
Mrs. Bahret received her bachelorís degree in early childhood education from Bowling Green State University in 2013. She began her career working as a long-term substitute teacher with Perrysburg Schools. In 2014, God opened the door for her to join the MCA staff. Mrs. Bahret works with students at all grade-levels, helping them to improve their reading and math skills. In her spare time, Mrs. Bahret enjoys watching college football and spending time with her husband.
Mrs. Michelle Keaster, Music
Mrs. Keaster received her bachelorís degrees in both music education and music/flute performance from Central Missouri State University (now University of Central Missouri). She also earned a masterís degree in flute performance from Wichita State University. She and her husband, Aaron, moved to the Toledo area after he won a position with the Toledo Symphony. Mrs. Keaster served as director of music ministries at First Baptist Church in Perrysburg for eleven years and brings years of teaching experience to MCA. Mrs. Keaster is responsible for the music program at all grade levels. The Keasters and their daughter, Kaelee, reside in Perrysburg.
Miss Emelia Shaffer, Art
Miss Emelia Shaffer grew up on a farm in the Cygnet Area. She is the youngest of four, having two sisters and a brother. Miss Shaffer graduated from Cedarville University in 2019 with a major in Studio Art and minors in Bible and Arts Administration. She is responsible for the art department at all grade levels and is excited to be serving at Monclova Christian Academy.
Mr. Zach Peterson, Athletic Director
Mr. Peterson grew up in a small town in North Central Florida. He attended and received his bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Liberty University. He is also currently going to school to attain his M.B.A. in Finance from Liberty University. In December of 2019, Mr. Peterson will be getting married to his fiance Sarah. Both of them are excited to move forward into the next chapter of their lives together. Mr. Peterson is looking forward to making an impact on the lives of the students here at MCA. His desire is to see the students grow mentally, physically, and spiritually as they ultimately become Champions for Christ.
